How Much Does a Holobox Rental Cost in the UAE?

What actually drives the price of a holobox rental?
Ask five people "how much does a hologram cost to rent" and you'll get five different numbers, because a holobox rental isn't a single product with one price tag. The final quote moves with a handful of specific factors: which machine you book, what the avatar is doing, how many days you need it, how much script and content work goes in beforehand, and where in the UAE it needs to travel to. Once you see these five levers, the range of quotes you'll get from any supplier starts to make a lot more sense.
So how much does a holobox rental cost in the UAE?
Event rental with faceOS starts from AED 3,500 per day, including the digital avatar. That's a starting point, not a flat rate — the final number depends on the machine size and the type of avatar running on it, and it moves up from there for bigger machines and more complex avatar content, while the total grows with the number of days. Delivery, set-up and on-site staff are quoted separately once we know your venue and dates, so the day rate you're comparing between suppliers should really be a like-for-like comparison of the avatar and machine, not the whole job.
Does the machine size change the price?
Yes, and it's usually the biggest single factor. A 21-inch holobox, a 7 ft holobox or a 2D tabletop screen all run the same avatar software, but they are different pieces of hardware to build, transport and install, so the day rate scales with the machine. As a rough shape:
- A 2D tabletop is the simplest machine to move and set up, which tends to put it at the lower end of the range.
- A 21-inch holobox adds a true 3D holographic presence in a compact footprint, suited to counters and reception desks.
- A 7 ft holobox is the life-size option for entrances and stage areas, and the larger build is reflected in the price.
If you're not sure which size fits your event, that's a conversation worth having before you ask for numbers, since it changes the quote more than almost anything else.
Does the type of avatar affect the cost?
It does. A short, simple greeting is a lighter job than a fuller bilingual avatar that handles a longer back-and-forth about your offers, products or event programme. The avatar type you choose shapes how much preparation goes into the day rate, alongside the machine itself.
Do more days, or more script work, change the price?
Both, independently. A multi-day booking is usually priced per day, so the total scales with how long you need the machine on-site — a single launch evening costs differently to a week-long exhibition stand. Separately, the content and script side matters: an avatar with a simple welcome message is quicker to prepare than one briefed on a full set of talking points, bilingual answers and event-specific details. If you already know roughly what you want the avatar to say, sharing that early tends to make the quoting process faster and more accurate.
Does where I am in the UAE affect the price?
Location plays into the delivery and set-up side of the job rather than the avatar or machine rate itself, since those are quoted separately based on your venue once we know where and when. It's one more reason the headline "from AED 3,500 per day" figure is a starting point for the avatar and machine, not the full cost of running your event.
Rent for an event, rent with a subscription, or buy — which fits you?
Once you know roughly what you need, the bigger decision is usually the commercial model rather than the day rate. There are three common paths:
- Rent for a single event. The straightforward choice for a product launch, a one-off exhibition stand or a short campaign, where you need the machine for a fixed number of days and don't expect to use it again soon.
- Rent long-term with a monthly avatar subscription. A middle ground for businesses that want the machine in place for months — a seasonal retail push or a trial placement at a reception — without committing to buying hardware outright.
- Buy the machine, with a monthly avatar subscription. The better fit once a holobox has become a permanent fixture, such as a showroom or a reception desk you expect to run for years, where owning the hardware works out more sensibly than renting it indefinitely.
Which of the three suits you depends on how long you'll actually use the machine and how certain you are about that today, more than anything else.
How do I get an exact price for my event?
The fastest way to get a number you can actually plan around is to tell us your machine preference (or let us suggest one), your dates, your venue and what you want the avatar to do. From there we can quote the day rate plus delivery, set-up and staffing as one clear number rather than a range. Book a live demo to see the avatar in action first, or message us on WhatsApp at +971 54 162 8480, or email Hello@faceos.io — whichever is easier for you.
